Oliver Zlamal

Managing Director STM AG – ad interim

Oliver Zlamal holds a PhD in Finance and an MBA of an US Ivy League university, complemented by 30 years international experience in the Mining Industry.

During his time with KMF, Oliver was instrumental in bringing ultra fine grinding mills for white minerals to the Mining Industry for an exclusive customer that entertains a network of 80 plants all over the globe. In this position, as CEO of KMF, Oliver established a strong Service and Maintenance business to serve mining operations globally not only from the main office in southern Austria but by KMF´s manufacturing Hubs that serve the customers directly from the regions LATAM, SUB-SAHARA, GCC, RAP and AUSTRALIA.

Oliver joined STM in 2024 as interim CEO to continue his passion for the mining industry with the aim to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint.

Thomas Thurner

Chief Technology Officer at STM AG – ad interim

Thomas Thurner is an experienced leader in the mining and mineral processing industry, with a strong focus on technology, innovation, and strategic business development. In his professional career he has successfully driven operational excellence, market expansion, and corporate transformation. With a background in business intelligence, mergers & acquisitions, and process optimization, he has led international projects that bridge technical expertise with strategic growth. His commitment to innovation and efficiency ensures the development of sustainable, high-performance solutions for the industry. Thomas holds the position of Managing Director and CTO at the KMF Group and joined STM in 2024 as interim CTO.

Slavko Planinic

Director STM Australia

Slavko Planinic was appointed Director of STM Australia in October 2021. Slavko has a wealth of senior management experience having previously held senior management positions for ABB in both Australia and across South Asia. Slavko last role with ABB was Managing Director of ABB Australia where he had responsibility for all of ABB’s operations nationally.

With more than 30 years’ experience with ABB, Slavko has worked across Europe and has extensive experience working in Asia in CFO roles.

Slavko holds a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in Accounting from the University of Technology Sydney and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Gonzalo Flores

Director STM Chile SpA

Gonzalo Flores is a Project Manager, with 15 years of experience in managing projects, service and maintenance contracts for the mining industry and utilities, with a background in risk management applied during the bidding stage as well as during execution of the projects.
He joined STM Chile in 2023, to work in the implementation of a local service center to attend the installed base in the region, and in the implementation of a testing laboratory.

Michael Moser

Head of Sales

Michael Moser brings a unique blend of technical expertise and project management experience to his role as Head of Sales. With an academic background in mechanical engineering and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Case Management and HR Development, he began his STM career as a project manager, gaining extensive hands-on experience by successfully executing multiple stirred mill capital projects. Transitioning to sales, he applies a strategic, results-driven approach to leadership, driving growth and delivering value to clients.

Daniel van Wyk

Head of Services

Daniel van Wyk is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in leadership and departmental management within the service, engineering, and project sectors. With a comprehensive understanding of mining equipment and machinery, he excels in project management, troubleshooting, assembly, commissioning, and maintenance.
Daniel is proficient in the full project life cycle and specializes in new and refurbished minerals processing equipment, mobile mining machines, and materials and bulk materials handling equipment.
His dedication to excellence in service support, product improvement, and project management is evident throughout his career.
As the Head of Service for STM Minerals AG in Switzerland, Daniel continues to drive innovation and efficiency, setting industry standards.

Fisher Wang

Fisher Wang holds a PhD in Mining Engineering from the UBC Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering. A seasoned Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the mining industry, he has a proven track record in mining operations and corporate, engineering and consulting, and research & development in academic institutions.

As Head of Process and R&D at STM Minerals AG, Fisher leverages his technical expertise and hands-on experience to drive the development and application of vertical stirred milling technology, contributing to the sustainable growth of the global mining and minerals industry.

With his extensive experience in the development and implementation of forward-looking solutions, he supports the company in tapping efficiency potential and securing competitive advantages. Michael Denzel

Head of Simulation & Engineering Analytics

Michael Denzel holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Montanuniversität Leoben. As an experienced engineer with passion for the mining industry he has a proven track record in R&D including many publications in the fields of comminution, conveying technology and the Discrete Element Method. As Senior Researcher at the Chair of Mining Engineering and Mineral Economics he has led international projects, designed innovative test methods and developed a novel breakage model for DEM.
As Head of Simulation and Engineering Analytics, Michael drives development and application of the vertical stirred milling technology contributing to a more efficient and sustainable mining industry.
