The 3500 kW vertical stirred mill was installed at the existing Sunrise Dam plant in Australia and commissioned in May 2018, for an ultra-fine regrind duty of the gold concentrate as part of the “Recovery Enhancement Project” to increase gold recovery by ~6%.
Easy Integration
This expansion consisted of a flotation cell bank to recover the refractory pyrite, followed by a thickener and the 3500 kW vertical stirred mill, to provide fine grinding and liberation before the CIL circuit.
High Performance Results, Ease of Use
The target of ~6% increase in gold recovery has been achieved, while the operators stated that it is very easy adjust the energy input and change the P80 during operation by changing the mill speed.
